Topsham library Card Policy

Topsham Public Library Card Policy:

Library cards may be issued to any Topsham resident/taxpayer or teachers at MSAD #75 (for class room materials only).

Non-resident cards are available under the following fee schedule:

·        Adult cards (over 18 years)= $35.00

·        Children’s cards (under 18 years with an adult card purchase)= $10.00

·        Student’s cards (over 16 years without adult card purchase) =$20.00

·        A library card is like a personal credit card.

·        Every Topsham patron should have his/her own card--we do not issue family cards.

·        Cards must be presented by the cardholder at EVERY checkout.

·        With permission, family members may pick up reserved materials only with another’s card.

·        All items checked out on an account are the sole responsibility of the cardholder.

·       No one (except law enforcement personnel with a warrant) is allowed access to account information without the consent of the cardholder                         (including parents of children regardless of the age of the child).

·        Patrons are responsible for notifying the library with address/phone/email change information or if a card is lost or stolen.

·        Email notification information is used to alert patrons about reserves and other account info—those who wish it will be added to our email list

and/or the Friends email list to receive library news and information about upcoming programs.

·        The library does not sell, rent or share email information with other organizations or individuals.
