 Interlibrary Loan from the comfort of home 
Looking for the latest and greatest read? Is Topsham’s copy already off our shelf and into another reader’s hand? You may now place online reserves for books owned by other libraries from your home computer:
Have your library card ready.
Click on the “Renew, Request and More” icon located on the right.
On the My Minerva Login screen type in your name as it appears on your library card, enter your 14-digit barcode number and hit the submit button.
The next screen shows the status of your account. For example; items on the hold shelf, items checked out. Clicking on any blue text will give you more information, this is how to get to the screen that allows you to renew your items or cancel a hold.
Click the button Search Catalog button on the right side of this screen to look for a book. You may search by title, author, word, subject or more.
You will be logged into All Minerva Locations at the beginning of your search. If you would like to see if the Topsham Public Library has a particular item on the shelf you must click on the down arrow next to All Minerva Locations.
Scroll down to Topsham Public Library and click on that name. Your search will now be scoped to the Topsham Public Library. Enter the title, author, word or subject you are looking for and click on the GO button. Click on the blue text for more information.
Once you have selected a title you may request an item by hitting the "Request" button at the top or bottom left side (4th button from left) of the page.
A page will come up and tell you that your request has been successful.
Search for another title or select the LOGOUT button with the red X to end your session.
We will send you an email notification when the book arrives at the Topsham Public Library. If you do not have email you will be notified by phone.
If no Minerva library owns the title you are looking for, you may want to search one of the Maine libraries outside our system like Maine's university catalogs:
Click on the "Search Maine Cat" button at the top or bottom of the page (2nd button from right).
If the desired title is owned in that system and is available (you find this by clicking on the blue text Display Holdings of Maine Info Net Libraries), then click on the blue "Request This Item" text. If the item is not available, you cannot request it, but must check back until the status changes to available.
The next screen asks you to choose your library. Scroll down to and click on Topsham Public Library
Click on "Submit This Information"
Type in your name and library card barcode.
Click on "Submit Above Information" and your request will be sent automatically. The system decides which library will receive your request.
We will send you an email notification when the book arrives at the Topsham Public Library. If you do not have email you will be notified by phone.
If you have problems or questions, this procedure can also take place in the comfort of your library. The staff will gladly walk you through the steps to place a reserve and make sure you get the book you need.
Things to remember:
You must have your library card with its 14 digit barcode to place requests.
The Topsham Public Library uses the state library delivery service four times a week. Next day delivery on your request is very unlikely.
You may place reserves on audiobooks, music, and VHS or DVD movies as well as books.
If you have a title you want, put it on hold immediately. Don’t wait until we put a copy in our collection. The new books we add will automatically give preference to holds placed by our Patrons. If there are no holds by Topsham Patrons, the new titles will be shipped to another library immediately to fulfill the existing holds.
You are limited to 5 holds on your account at one time.
